Jogesh Babu named Distinguished Professor
Dr. Babu has been named a distinguished professor by Penn State in acknowledgment for his decades of contributions to fields such as probabilistic number theory, resampling methods, nonparametrics, goodness of fit, and of course, astrostatistics.

2018 Chemerda Lecture
Dr. Wasserman will present two lectures as part of the Chemerda Lecture series. The first public forum lecture - March 14th, titled "The Greatest Debate in the History of Science ". His second scientific lecture will be presented March 15th, titled "High Dimensional Multinomials and Unsmooth Densities ".

Pat Buchanan receives the C. I. Noll Award for Excellence in Teaching
The C. I. Noll Award is presented annually to an outstanding faculty member within the Eberly College of Science. Nominations are accepted from alumni, faculty, and all students. Faculty may also nominate themselves or another faculty member. The award is designed to recognize a faculty member who has had a positive impact on students. One award will be given to a tenure-track faculty member and one award will be given to an instructional teaching faculty member or lecturer.
