Donald Richards presents invited address at world’s largest mathematics meeting
Donald Richards, professor of statistics at Penn State University, presented the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) - American Mathematical Society (AMS) Invited Address at the Joint Mathematics Meeting (JMM) in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 6, 2017. The JMM is the largest mathematics meeting in the world. This year’s meeting is the 100th annual meeting of the MAA and the 123rd annual meeting of the AMS.

Dr. Debashis Ghosh awarded the Mortimer Spiegelman Award
The Applied Public Health Statistics Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA) honors Dr. Debashis Ghosh for his outstanding contributions to health statistics, especially public health statistics. The award will be presented at the 2013 APHA meeting in November.

Dr. Jogesh Babu recognized at the International Conf. in Statistics and Probability
Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis initiated the discipline of Statistics in India. He made fundamental and lasting contributions to its development and application. He founded the Indian Statistical Institute with the aim of teaching and research in Statistics and allied subjects. The conference on Statistics and Probability was held at the Kolkata campus of the Institute, on January 2-4, 2018. A post-conference workshop on Astrostatistics was also organized on January 5, 2018.

Dr. Lin Elected Fellow of Institute of Mathematical Statistics
Dennis Lin, professor of statistics at Penn State University, has been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS), which honored him "for his contributions to experimental design and response-surface methodology, and for service to the profession." This is Lin's fifth professional Fellow.
