My name is Cheng You. I was born in Sichuan, China, lived and studied there until the end of high school. I then went to Nanjing University and got elected as Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholar to continue my college education at Department of Mathematics, Hong Kong Baptist University. After graduation, I came to Department of Statistics, Pennsylvania State University for my master's and PhD education. I worked for more than two years after I got my master's degree, one year and a half at a Chicago-based hedge fund and eight months at a Shanghai-based investment trust. Now, I am working on my PhD thesis while doing some consulting work.

Research Interests

My research interests lie in venture capital/private equity/portfolio data, temporal network data and environmental data. All of them are highly correlated with time-space varying statistical methodology. My current research focuses on air quality problems. More specifically, I am working on addressing the issues of airborne fine particles PM2.5 on human health. PM2.5 raised lots of concerns, both health- and economics-related, especially in big cities of USA and China.
